Abstract
Ghalib's poetry is rich in literary beauties. Usage of compound words
in his poetic rendition in a befitting way may also be traced. This article is a
linguistic and technical study of compounds employed by Ghalib. They
have been studied in light of grammar and their kinds have also been
discussed. Moreover, an effort has also been made to determine how
Persian language has been benefitted in coining compounds and what kinds
of innovations were made in this regard. The article sheds light on Ghalib's
poetry from this particular angle.
