Abstract
Hafiz Mehmood Sherani is the pioneer of Tadveen e Matn of Urdu in
Oriental College. He is the first scholar who took up the difficult task of
correcting and rehabilitating text of old Urdu books. His Famous works in
Tadveen e Matn are "Majmuaa e Naghz" and "Khaliq e Baari". He was
primarily the scholar of Arabic and Persian and he brought the knowledge
of these classical languages to bear upon his urdu work. In this Research
Paper Dr. Azmat Rubab has given us a summary of his work with analysis
of his principals and methods of Research with special reference to
"Maqaalaat e Sheerani Vol. 1 and 2.
