Abstract
Under the influence of the Persian literature, religious topics found their expression in Urdu Ghazal in almost every era. It is the hallmark of Ghazal that it has been even consisting of political,social,and economic topics. Waheed-ul-Hassan Hashmi a Ghazalian poet of the present time,also penned down the these topics. He preached religion through Naat,manqbat, Salam,Marsia(Elegy),Nohay and Ghazal. He has taught the lesson of embellishing/enhancing human moral aspects through Ghazal.The pviot of his poetry has been the incident of Karbla.That is why every ideology of him is originated from the Karbla incident. He was the banner holder of the inter-communal unity of the muslim. Since the entire hustle and bustle in this world is because of death,that is why the mention of mortality and transience is found in his poetry in abundance.
